Dear Harbor students,

With this as my first year as the principal for Harbor High School, I could not imagine a better group of students to be with. Many years ago, I was an alternative education high school teacher. I kept a large poster on the wall of my classroom. The poster was a picture of Albert Einstein. He had crazy, rebellious hair that darted out in all different directions; but somehow the hair worked well with his unruly moustache. Underneath his picture was a quote from Einstein that read simply:

"Imagination is more important than knowledge."

I displayed this poster prominently in my classroom. It was to remind me daily that the creativity of my students went far beyond the scope of the ordinary. This fact has not changed over all these years. The inventiveness and expressiveness that I have observed in each of you is what makes you such an interesting group of students to work with. Whether it is with art, music, writing, drama, debate, or comedy-especially the comedy, Harbor students bring a unique perspective to everything they do.

I encourage all of you to capitalize on your creativity and go, wholeheartedly after your dreams.

Ms. Gallagher
