Huron Valley Schools Strategic Plan Phase III

On November 17-18, 2009, a group of 27 individuals representing different District stakeholders, including students, met to develop the third Strategic Plan for the District.  This three-year plan facilitated by principals Teri Thompson and Scott Lindberg provides a blueprint for renewed success that will guide all District decision-making.  During the retreat, the Planning Team revised the District’s mission statement, updated the belief statements and determined one primary objective that focuses on a 100% graduation rate.  In addition, the team developed four main strategies that will be the focus areas for the next step of the strategic planning process which is the creation of Action Teams. The Action Teams will be led by two co-facilitators representing administration and the community.  Action Team Leader training will occur in January 2010, Action Teams will be formed and begin meeting February through April to determine result statements for each of the four strategies.  Action Teams will be open to all interested individuals.  In the spring, the completed Strategic Plan will be brought to the Board of Education for adoption.
