Huron Valley Schools Athletics Comedy Show Fundraiser
|
|
|
Huron Valley Athletics will host its first comedy show and live auction on Friday, June 15th from 6:30 pm to 10 pm at 59 West in Highland. This adults only event includes appetizers, prime rib/chicken dinner, beverages with cash bar, silent and live auction, door prizes, and raffle drawings. Proceeds will benefit Huron Valley Athletics by maintaining the current pay to participate fees, transportation costs, assuring that HVS athletes are supported by an athletic trainer, preserving middle school and sub-varsity programming. |

HVS Offers Schools of Choice and Half Day Kindergarten

Huron Valley Schools is offering its exceptional educational program to students residing outside of the District at no charge. Schools of Choice applications are being accepted for those wishing to attend Huron Valley Schools for the 2012-13 school year. Applicants can be from Oakland, Livingston and Genesee counties. |

Team Huron Valley Special Olympics Volunteer Sign Up

Our District Track meet is on May 19 at Lakeland High School. We are in need of volunteers for the day of the event. This year we are asking for volunteers to be signed up by May11. MHS Boys' Basketball Team Earns Honors
|
|
|
 Congratulations to the MHS Boys' Basketball Team for earning Academic All-State Honors. The 3.60 team GPA was the sixth highest in Class A for the State of Michigan. Last year's team had a 3.66 GPA and was number one in Class A. Great job gentlemen! |

Huron Valley Hosts College Night 2012

The Career Centers of Lakeland and Milford High Schools invite high school students and their parents to College Night on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. This free exhibit is open to the public and will be hosted at Lakeland High School, 1630 Bogie Lake Road, White Lake 48383 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the old gym. It offers families a chance to learn about college admissions requirements, costs, financing options, and scholarship opportunities. |

Huron Valley Schools Names Interim Superintendent
|
|
|
 The Huron Valley Board of Education voted 6-0 Thursday, March 1, 2012, to appoint Jim Baker, Executive Director of Human Resources, as interim superintendent effective May 1, 2012. Mr. Baker has served in HVS since July 2010. Prior to serving in HVS he was employed as Director of Human Resources for the Romulus Community Schools.

L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Choose Johnston

The L'Anse Creuse Public Schools Board of Education has selected Huron Valley Schools' Superintendent Jackie Johnston as their top choice for superintendent. Johnston has served HVS for 16 years in various positions, most recently for six years as superintendent. |

HVS Completes Requirements for Incentive Revenue
|
|
|
The Huron Valley Board of Education recently approved a resolution certifying that the District complied with the Best Practices requirements under Michigan law. The action positions HVS to receive a $100 per pupil incentive payment--totaling approximately $1 million.
