Huron Valley Adult Education Medical Assistant Career Training

Program outline:

Students are required to complete 7 courses in the program along with 64 hours of externship to receive the Medical Assistant vocational certificate and pin. Opportunities for employment include positions in physicians' offices, hospitals and clinics, home health agencies, laboratories, assisted living complexes and insurance companies.

Required classes:

Anatomy & Physiology, Clinical I, Clinical II/externship, General Office Procedures, Medical Office Procedures, Pharmacology, Terminology

FEES:

The classes are generally FREE if you do not have a high school diploma, even if you have a GED. There is a non-refundable $25 registration fee (per semester) due at the time of enrollment. Tuition students are welcome at a cost of $225 per class plus required textbooks. Tuition & fees must be paid at the time of registration.

All enrolling students must pass an entrance math exam (converting between fractions, decimals, ratio's and proportions) and pass a reading exam with a 10th grade level or higher. Class size is limited and you will be notified in the fall if you are accepted into the program. New students may only enroll in the Fall of each year.
