English as a second language (ESL)

Huron Valley Adult Education welcomes all foreign-born people. We offer FREE classes to help you improve your English skills. English as a Second Language classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Duck Lake Center in Highland. Classes meet from

5:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Instruction is individualized, and students may work with tutors at their own pace.

Improve your English to....

• Improve communication with your child's teacher and other school personnel.
• Speak more English with your child in the home.
• Learn Math, Social Studies, and Science vocabulary to help your child with homework
• Read and fill out school forms and reports.
• Help your child with everyday reading in books, magazines, newspapers, and on the internet.

A non-refundable registration fee of $25 (per semester) is due at the time of registration.

WE ARE IN NEED OF SPANISH SPEAKING VOLUNTEER TUTORS FOR OUR ESL PROGRAM

You do not need to have special training or a college degree. We will train you. Just be open-minded, flexible and willing to spend a few hours of your time each week helping other adults learn to read.
