Respect and Responsibility Code
Purpose: To create a positive learning environment for students—because teachers have the right to teach; and students have the right to learn.
All Harbor High School students have the responsibility to:
• Show a positive attitude and help others to do so. • Accept others for who they are by showing acceptance of individual differences. • Solve all problems in a mature manner. • Express opinions at appropriate times, as long as they are not rude, violent, or degrading to others. • Use appropriate language and be respectful to fellow students. • Be respectful to staff members at all times. • Respect the property of others. • Respect other people who utilize Duck Lake Center. • Pick up after themselves and keep the school orderly. • Abide by all the rules of the Harbor High School Respect and Responsibility Code and the Huron Valley Schools Code of Conduct, and accept the consequences if violated.
These rights and responsibilities are adopted by the students and staff of Harbor High School, to be honored by all. |

Harbor Behavior Contract
I agree to abide by the following guidelines:
- I will come to class willing to learn. I will make every effort to finish assignments and turn them in on time. I will abide by the attendance policy. I will ask for help when necessary because my goal is to graduate from high school.
- I will conform to appropriate school and classroom behavior --such as refraining from loud outbursts, touching other students, and leaving the classroom during class without permission. I agree to honor this Harbor Respect Code and treat others as I would want them to treat me.
- I agree to respect the property of the school district. I will not engage in inappropriate usage or vandalism of any kind.
I will respect the other programs that utilize Duck Lake Center. I will also respect the neighborhood in which the school is located.
I will not trespass into any unauthorized areas of the building.
I will drive carefully to and from school. I will not speed in the parking lot, or on the streets approaching the school. I agree to refrain from driving my vehicle in a reckless manner, which could endanger pedestrians. I will not loiter in the parking lot, before, during, or after school.
I will not have in my possession, or in my vehicle, any controlled or illegal substance(s). Neither will I use any such substance(s) that would affect my physical and mental behaviors during time in the classroom or on a school activity. I also agree not to use any tobacco products on school property or on any school activity.
I will make mature decisions regarding appropriate behavior because I know that all possibilities cannot be addressed in written form.
I will abide by all the policies as written in the Huron Valley Schools Code of Conduct.
Deviation from this agreement may result in exclusion from the Harbor High School program. | |
